Let’s Be Real

What’s the hardest decision you’ve ever had to make? Why?

The hardest decision I’ve ever had to make was to walk out the door. In relationships, I’ve always been all in: prioritizing their happiness over mine, protecting their peace, and keeping any struggles private. I never liked scenes or attention, so I carried the weight quietly. But after five years, things reached a point where I could no longer tolerate what was happening. I realized I had to meet him where he was, and that meant leaving.

It’s been almost three years since that choice, and it still stands as one of the biggest decisions of my life that I will have to make. Making the choice to walk away from something that defined such a large part of my twenties wasn’t easy. I was 23 when it began, he was 39. Now I’m 31, and I see clearly how much strength it took to choose myself.
