✨ Day Five: The Educators Who Taught Us to Fight

Before there were protests, there were classrooms.
Before there were marches, there were lessons.
And before we could demand justice, we had to learn how to read the signs.

Today, we honor the educators who understood that knowledge is power — and made sure we had both.

Mary McLeod Bethune
She started a school with $1.50 and a vision.
She believed that education was the key to freedom, and she built institutions that proved it.
Her legacy lives in every student who dares to dream bigger.

Carter G. Woodson
The “Father of Black History” didn’t just teach — he rewrote the curriculum.
He founded Negro History Week, which became Black History Month.
He reminded us that history is not just what happened — it’s what we choose to remember.

Marva Collins
She taught in a system that had given up on Black children — and she refused to follow suit.
With love, rigor, and radical belief, she turned classrooms into sanctuaries.
Her students didn’t just learn — they soared.

These are the educators who taught us to fight.
They gave us the tools to build a better world.
